I've been doing this stuff for about 10 years now. I started out making little pamphlets on my laser printer. I figured out how to carve rubber stamps to add color. Then ink jet printers became the standard and I had even more color options. I learned over time how to bind books a bit, how to use embossing powder with my rubber stamps, how to do screen printing. And here we are.
You can find a little trail of writings from an earlier verion of this website here.
For awhile I did this thing called Your Daily Steam where I emailed a story out dailyish. This was way back before Blogs, so it was a more interesting idea back then. I really believe that the way to get good at anything is to do it lots of times. I wrote about 400 stories before YDS fizzled out. Just think how awful I writer I would be if I had that practice. All the stories are archived in the electronic archives of National Library.
